For Women 30+

Strength is the best investment you can make

Well-programmed strength training protects muscle, bone and joints through your 30s, 40s and beyond. It is never too late to start — and the first session is simpler than you think.

The Science

Why it matters

Muscle mass declines from your 30s

Adults lose roughly 3–8% of muscle mass per decade from age 30, and the rate accelerates after menopause. Resistance training is the only intervention shown to reliably reverse that trend.

Bone responds to load

Oestrogen decline around perimenopause accelerates bone loss. Progressive loading and impact work stimulate bone remodelling and help preserve bone mineral density.

Strength protects joints

Stronger muscles around the hip, knee and shoulder reduce joint load and are strongly associated with lower rates of persistent musculoskeletal pain.

Metabolic and mental health

Two to three sessions a week improve insulin sensitivity, sleep quality, mood and energy — benefits that compound over years, not weeks.
